Obituary

Mary Eileen (Gifford) Pomprowicz, age 92, of Swansea, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, March 31, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Pomprowicz. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late John Gifford and the late Delia Lepa (Stuart). A resident of Swansea for most of her life, she was employed by the Swansea School Department as a cafeteria worker for many years. In her younger years she loved her bowling league, going to Lincoln Park, attending to her flower garden and loved getting fresh flowers, her weekly bingo outings, and an occasional trip to Foxwoods. Most of all she loved being surrounded by her family especially the little babies rocking and singing to them. Surviving family members include her five children; Joseph H. Pomprowicz, wife Barbara, Gary A. Pomprowicz, wife Donna, Gail A. McLane, and Alan J. Pomprowicz, wife Brenda, all of Swansea, and Carol E. Monast, husband Pete (Del) of New Port Richey, Florida, ten grandchildren - Christine Kenyon, Carey Itzen, Bobby Monast, Robert Faria, Kaitlyn Pomprowicz, Kerri DiRocco, Billy and Doug McLane, Alan and Allison Pomprowicz, fifteen great grandchildren - Brittnie, Jared, and Kyle Bates, Ashley Pierce, Frank Gubala, Cuyler Itzen, Bobby Jr. and Joey Monast, Jade and Jace Faria, Hunter Pomprowicz, Allie and Christopher DiRocco, Jackson and Zachary McLane, six great great grandchildren - Joseph and Jacob Morais, Desmond and Izaiah Pierce, Kallie Bates, Keegan Monast, and many nephews and nieces. Following her cremation, Her Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 8th, in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Swansea.
