Mary Ponte, 93, formerly of Borden West, passed away Sunday at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center. Widow of Delphine S. Ponte. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Travassos) Oliveira. A retired sewing machine operator, she worked at the former A&A Mfg. Co. for many years and was a member of the ILGWU. Mother of Paul (wife-Natalie) Balasch; Jonathan (wife-Betty), Frederick (wife-Dorothy) and Michael (wife-Kathy) Ponte; sister of the late Frank Oliveira. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, October 18, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
