Mary S. Rose, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Joseph N. Rose, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at St. Anne's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Lafayette S. Oliveira, Sr. and the late Louise S. (Souza) Oliveira.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years. She loved music, crafts, knitting, and her trips to the casino. Mary also enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to such places as the Caribbean, Florida, Bermuda, and Canada. But most importantly, she relished the time she spent with her loving family.

She leaves: her daughter, Elizabeth A. Rose of Fall River; her son, John Rose and his wife, Elizabeth, of Fall River; four grandchildren, Ashley, Jillian, MaKenzie, and Conor; a sister, Lidia Andrews (late husband, Alfred); one brother, Lafayette S. Oliveira (late wife, Pauline); and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Rita Lund, Irene Holland, Evelyn Perry, James Oliveira, John Oliveira, and Edmund Oliveira.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 2nd, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery
