Mary G. Silvia, 90, of Somerset, widow of James Silvia, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Antonio H. Raposo and the late Maria dos Anjos (Correia) Raposo, she emigrated to Fall River in 1962, residing in Somerset most of her life.

A talented seamstress, Mary enjoyed making clothing for family and friends. She was best known for being a loving and nurturing caregiver to many extended family members and friends over the years.

She is survived by a brother, Eduardo Raposo (wife Isabel) of Oakville, Canada, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Victor Raposo and Carlos Raposo.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 25th, at St. John of God Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery both in  Somerset.
