Maureen Raposa, 67, of Fall River, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday. Wife of Ronald Raposa, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late James Tavares and Evangeline (Medeiros) Florio. She worked at Cleanorama in Tiverton, RI and in her youth, she rollerskated competitively with "The Rollettes" at the former Lincoln Park. Maureen was an avid reader who greatly enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and cooking. Survivors include sons, Scott Raposa of Goldsboro, NC and Bryan Raposa of Franklin, NH; daughters, Tracey Costa of Taunton, MA, Kathleen Trenholme of Somerset, MA and Melissa R. Raposa of Newport, RI; grandchildren, Megan Raposa, Benjamin Raposa, Sara Costa, Elizabeth Trenholme and Samuel Trenholme; and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Robert Tavares and stepdaughter of the late Antone Florio. Her funeral service took place at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home. Cremation was private.
