Obituary

Melissa "Missy" Benevides, 54, of Westport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at St. Anne's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Mary E. (Silva) Benevides and the late Everett Benevides.

Melissa was a resident of Life Stream and resided in Westport, Massachusets.  She enjoyed listening to music and simply being home with her family. For those who had the pleasure of meeting Missy knew that she was the true example of God's "Earth angel".

Besides her loving and devoted mother, she leaves her brothers, Eric Benevides and his wife, Bozena, of Johnston, Rhode Island, and Jason Benevides and his wife, Jennifer, of Tiverton, Rhode Island; her niece, Julie Benevides;  nephew, Samuel Benevides; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Following a private cremation, Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 25th, at Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by a committal and burial of her ashes at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Missy's memory to: Easter Seals Massachusetts, 89 South St. Boston, MA 02111.

"To You, O Lord, we humbly entrust this Angel, so precious in your sight. Take her into your arms and welcome her into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping nor pain, but the fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever."
