Melissa Silva, 49, of Assonet, formerly of Somerset, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was the beloved daughter of Alda Maria Resendes and Edmund F. Silva.

Melissa loved Mickey Mouse, the holidays, going on long rides with her Mom, and listening to music, especially Rock-in-Roll. She also very much enjoyed eating her Mom's lovingly made foods, especially her Portuguese soup. But most notably, she relished spending quality time with her devoted Mother with whom she shared a unique and special bond. Melissa was an "angel" on earth and now a true and free "heavenly" one, no longer with the challenges and struggles she dealt with throughout her entire life.

Besides her parents, she leaves: her brother, Marc Silva and his wife, Lara, of Hudson, Florida; one niece, one nephew, and several cousins.

Melissa's funeral arrangements were private. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Melissa's memory to: Crystal Springs School, 38 Narrows Road, Assonet, MA 02702.
