Merciana Pimentel, 63 of Orange Street passed away on February 27, 2009 after a long illness. Wife of Luis Pimentel. Born in Aqua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Joao and Maria C. (Pereira) Teixeira. A retired textile worker, she worked mostly at the former Trends Curtain Co. She was sister of Maria Costa, Urselina Leite, Marcelino Pereira and the late Manuel Pereira, John and Jose Teixeira. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers David and John Teixeira, Joe Leite, Manuel Medeiros, Daniel Pereira and Manuel Costa brought Merciana to her final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
