Messias P. Farias, 78, of Fall River, husband of Maria de Lurdes (Sousa) Farias, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Miguel B. Farias and the late Maria (dos Santos) Farias, he emigrated to Fall River in 1974. He was employed at Tillotson-Pearson (boat building) of Warren, RI, for over twenty years. Messias raised cattle every year to donate for the Holy Ghost, and also to benefit cancer research. A sports fan, especially of soccer, his favorite team was Benfica. He also enjoyed making wine.

Besides his wife, of 53 years, he is survived by: two children, Lino J. Farias (wife Kayla) of Somerset and Samantha Therrien (significant other Ron Hanrahan) of Westport; six sisters, two brothers; grandchildren, Matthew (wife Natasha), Hannah, Juliet, Haylee, and Kayden; a great granddaughter, Avery; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by ten siblings.
