Michael C. Borden, 70, of Fall River, husband of Gilles DeCotret, passed away peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Lillian (Mauro) Borden. Prior to his retirement, he was a hairdresser for many years.  A longtime member of the Elks and Amvets, he was also an avid reader and loved watching CSI and Criminal Minds, cooking, and simply being with his family. He also enjoyed his Saturday afternoons at the Elks and listening to Johnny  Mathis. Besides his partner of forty-two years, he leaves:  four brothers, William Borden and his wife Beverly of Trukee, California, Robert Borden and his wife Nancy of Rockland, Ma, Normand Borden and his wife Jeanette of Swansea, and Donald Borden and his partner David of Fall River; brother-in-law, Thomas Vanasse; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lorraine Mirra, Rose Polselli, and Norma Vanasse. The Fall River Lodge of Elks remembered their brother with their ritual on Saturday, July 21st, during calling hours in our Fall River Chapel. His burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery.
