Michael P. Franco, 76, of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 28, 2009, following an extended illness. Born in Fall River, son of the late John and Veronica (Panoc) Franco, he was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in shipping at the former Louis Hand and more recently was employed by the Fall River School Department as a custodian. Survivors include brothers, Stephen Franco (wife Elaine) and Thomas Franco (wife Colleen); sisters, Marion Paulo (husband Charles), Veronica Ferreira (husband Lawrence), Beverly Borden (husband Charles) and Paula Desmarais (husband Armand), nephew, Ian; nieces, Bethany and Meredith; several other nieces and nephews; and his devoted caregiver, Paul Methot. He was also brother of the late Cynthia Beaulieu, Robert C. Franco and John "Jack" Franco. His Funeral Mass was offered on Thursday, October, 1, in Holy Rosary Church. After the services, pallbearers Michael Larrivee, Adam Larrivee, Matthew Franco, Scott Dinsmore, Ian Franco, and Marc Charest, brought Michael to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
