Michael R. Marcotte, 61, of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Laurier Marcotte, and the late Madeleine (Belliveau) Marcotte, he resided in New Bedford most of his life.

He worked for a time as assistant manager with the former B & B Manufacturing. He had a special interest in astronomy and enjoyed attending air shows.

He is survived by three sisters, Marie Marcotte of Westport, MA, Jocelyne Erwin of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Elaine Andrade of East Freetown, MA. He also leaves three nieces and a nephew.

Due to the COVID pandemic, his cremation arrangements were private. When the current crisis allows, hopefully this coming fall, his family is planning to celebrate his life with a private memorial service.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. Being unable to do so, because of this pandemic, all are urged to express sympathy online or by mail.
