Obituary

Michael G. Simcock, 80, of Westport, husband of the late Rebecca Janes, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Born in Willimantic, Connecticut, Michael was the son of the late Leo Gaudreau and Sylvia (Harvey) Morse. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Michael was a hardworking and talented mechanic who owned and operated Mike's Alignment Brake & Spring for many years before retiring. He took great pride in his work and was known for his ability to fix just about anything. In retirement, he enjoyed life at his home on the Westport River, where he devoted many hours to his garden and tinkering away in his workshop. He especially enjoyed spending evenings beside the chiminea overlooking the water, a simple pleasure he shared with his beloved wife, Becca.

Michael is survived by his grandson, Josh Robinson of Swansea, his wife, Bonnie, and their children, Nathan and Cora; his granddaughter, Lindsey Cabral of Swansea, her husband Joe, and their children, Brady and Bennett; his stepdaughter, Marion Moniz of Somerset, and her husband Nicholas; his stepson, Morgan Hobart of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and his children, Wyatt and Wesley; his son in law, Gary Robinson of Swansea; and his sister, Sue Taveira of Swansea. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kim Robinson.

After a private cremation, His Memorial Service was held on Friday, July 24th, at the conclusion of a visitation period in our Somerset Chapel. His Committal Service with Military Honors followed at Beech Grove Cemetery in Westport.
