Nair M.
Raposa
d. Mar 19, 2021
Fall River
Nair M. Raposa, 78, of Fall River, wife of the late Manuel M. Raposa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 19, 2021 in the comforts of her home after a long illness. Born in Terceira, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Georgino Goulart and the late Maria (Silveira) Goulart.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a seamstress in the local textile industry for many years. A true homebody, she loved cooking, knitting, and word searches. Nair also very much enjoyed shopping, dining out with her sisters, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family.
She leaves: her children, Gino Raposa and his wife, Debbie, Joseph Raposa, Rose Pacheco, and Angelina Ferreira and her husband, David, all of Fall River; her granddaughter, Stephanie Viveiros and her fiancé, Brendan Ward; four great-grandchildren, Bella Viveiros, Brady Viveiros, Kyros Durden, and Aiden Silva; two sisters, Laura Rodrigues (late husband, Moses) and Georgina Batista (late husband, Joseph) both of Fall River; one brother, Georgino Goulart (late wife, Alice) of Swansea; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cherished cats, Baby, Baby Girl, Fluffy, Sheba, Spooky, Cookie, and Rosie. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Goulart, Carlos Goulart, and Maria Cunha.
The Raposa family would also like to acknowledge Accent Hospice for the exceptional care and kindness they extended to their mother during her illness.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 26th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of this pandemic or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website ( www.silvafaria.com ) and not through a third party. Thank you.
