Nancy J.
Wright
d. Oct 11, 2021
Nancy J. Wright, 78, of Fall River and long-time companion of Robert W. Eckert, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Binghamton, New York, she was a daughter of the late M. John Cooney and the late Catherine (Petty) Cooney.
Nancy was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served her Country during the Vietnam War. Prior to her retirement, she was a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital for many years, a profession she was passionate about. She also loved traveling to such places as Vermont, New Hampshire, and to her birthplace in New York. But what was most important to Nancy was spending quality time with all her family.
Besides her long-time companion of twenty-one years, she leaves: her loving daughter, Jennifer A. Barlow and her husband, Richard, of Fall River; her three grandchildren, Catherine Cooney, Katelyn Barlow, and Amy Cooney; her great-granddaughter, Ariel Keane; daughter-in-law, Maureen Cooney; three sisters, Mary Catherine Cooney of New York, Janet Rose of Minnesota, and Diane LeClair and her husband, Ronald, of Georgia; brother-in-law, John Clark; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She also is survived by her beloved dog, "baby bear". She was also the mother of the late John P. Cooney and sister of the late Michael Cooney and the late Rita Clark.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 16th, in Holy Name Church followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Nancy's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
