Nelia M. Ferreira, 58, of Fall River, longtime companion of Eduardo Vieira, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Tome Ferreira and the late Maria Fatima (Branco) Ferreira, she emigrated to Fall River in 1983.
Employed at Quaker Fabric for a number of years until its closure, Nelia then worked for a while at a local nursing home in its housekeeping department.  A Santo Christo church parishioner, she was a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality.  Nelia enjoyed member ship in several band clubs, including Santa Cecilia, Banda Mosteirense, and Santo Antonio. She was also a member of Fall River Sporting Club and Club Açoreana.
Besides Eduardo, she is survived by: four siblings, Tome Luis Ferreira of St. Michael, Azores, and Jose Manuel Ferreira, Carlos Manuel Ferreira, Francisco Ferreira and Vidalia Ferreira all of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews.  Nelia was also the mother of the late Keith Ferreira.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 9:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered in Santo Christo Church at 10:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
