Nelson M. Botelho, 49, of Westport, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 17, 2023. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late David M. Botelho and the late Isabel (Medeiros) Botelho.

Nelson valued simplicity in life. He enjoyed being in the comfort of his home working on his passion, which was writing. He loved listening to music, watching a movie in his surround sound, reading, researching, and learning new things.

He valued family and spending time having meaningful and philosophical conversations with them. He also enjoyed sharing a good laugh with others which was always contagious. He showed his appreciation for his family by completing acts of service. He was meticulous and took pride in everything he took on and completed.

Nelson was a humble and righteous man who believed in treating all equal. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by: three sisters, Rita M. Botelho of New Jersey, Odette M. Botelho of New York and Michelle M. Botelho of Westport; one niece, Taya I. Wulff; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 28th, in Espirito Santo Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Nelson's memory to NAMIMASS.org or JEDFOUNDATION.org.
