Niveria V. Raposo

Niveria Vieira Raposo, 66, of Fall River, wife of Joao M. Raposo, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at R.I. Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose Barbosa Vieira and the late Luisa Maria de Medeiros Oliveira, she emigrated in 1976 to Cambridge, MA, and later moved to Fall River where she resided most of her life.

Besides her husband, she is survived by: two children, Paul Giesta (wife Meredith) of Medford, MA, and Diane Giesta of Billerica, MA; four siblings, twins Mercia da Silva & Natercia Bernardo, Luisa Vieira, and Lucia Vieira; seven grandchildren, Madison, Kendall, Kayla, Isaiah, Nathan, Troy Jr, and Kyle; and several nieces and nephews. Niveria was predeceased by her son, Kevin M. Giesta.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 9:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
