Noel Rapoza, 84, of Somerset, husband of the late Edith (Medeiros) Rapoza, died Sunday 4/22/12 at New Bedford Rehab Hospital. Born in Fall River, son of the late Frank S. & Maria (Rapoza) Rapoza, he lived in Somerset most of his life. He was employed in the local construction industry for many years with the former Tilcon-Capaldi / Lawrence Ready-Mix until his retirement. A US Army veteran, he was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #118, Fall River, and the Somerset Progressive Club. He loved being with his family, and enjoyed frequenting local restaurants, gardening & bird watching. He leaves: 3 children, Ronald N. Rapoza (wife Linda) & Nancy J. Salamon both of Somerset, and Debra E. Manning of Swansea; 6 grandchildren, Julie Berube, Bethany & Katherine Salamon, Bradford & Matthew Rapoza, and Rhett Manning; 3 great grandchildren, Isabel, Sadie & Mattison; 3 siblings, Mary Titone of Somerset, Frank Rapoza of Fall River, and Moses Rapoza of Lakeville; many nieces & nephews; and his beloved dog, Sparky. Also brother of the late Lionel Rapoza. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, April 26, in St John of God Church followed by his committal at Nathan Slade Cemetery.
