Norberto V. Tavares, 74, of Fall River, husband of the late Maria Estrella (Resendes) Tavares, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, after an illness. Born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose Tavares and the late Teresa (Vieira) Tavares.

Prior to his retirement from Quaker Fabric, Norberto was employed in the local textile industry for about thirty years. He was a member of the Don Carlos Club and enjoyed fishing, gardening, winemaking, and watching soccer – cheering on his favorite team, Benfica.

He is survived by: two children, Suzanne M. Tavares (husband Alvaro Sousa) and David A. Tavares both of Fall River; four siblings, Leonora Botelho of Fall River, Elpitdo Tavares of Hudson, MA, Manuel Tavares of Swansea, and Antonio Tavares of Fall River; two grandchildren, Alexander Sousa and Diontae Vieira; and several nieces and nephews. Norberto was predeceased by two siblings, Jose Tavares and Lurdes Correira.

His Funeral Arrangements were private.
