Octavio M. Melo, 74, of Westport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2020 after a brief illness.

Born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Adorico Melo and the late Maria (Mota) Melo.

He loved whittling wood and creating all sorts of shapes with it. Octavio also enjoyed eating, family gatherings, his daily walks, and socializing with his friends at the Don Carlos Club.

He leaves: his brothers, Gilbert Melo (late wife, Marcelina) of Fall River, Oliver DeMelo of Westport, and Odorico DeMelo of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister, Eduarda Costa and her husband, Antero, of Fall River; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Octavio was laid to rest on Wednesday, November 4th, with a private committal service at Notre Dame Cemetery.
