Octavio Sousa, 82, of Fall River, husband of Maria Jose (Pereira) Sousa, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital, after an illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St Michael, Azores, a son of the late Jose Pedro Sousa and the late Maria da Gloria (Cardoso) Sousa, he emigrated to Fall River in 1969, and worked for many years in the local textile industry – retiring from the former Priority Finishing Co. in 2001. He loved his dog, Matthew, and enjoyed woodworking.

Besides his wife, of 55 years, he leaves: two daughters, Maria Roque (husband Francisco) of Fall River and Anna DeCosta (husband Stephen) of Fall River; two siblings, Eduardo Sousa of Fall River and Maria Conceicao Sousa of California; four grandchildren, Chantel (husband Randy), Taylor (significant other Joe), Destinee (husband Maurice), and Brandon (significant other Brittnay); three great grandchildren, Cassidyanna, Rielynn, and Aeliana Octavia; and several nieces & nephews. He was also a brother of the late Joao Antonio Sousa.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 1st, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St Patrick's Cemetery.
