Obituary

Olga G. Cabral, 79, of Fall River and wife of the late Mariano "Varao" P. Cabral, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 17, 2021 after a long illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Mariano Gaspar and the late Aduzinda Ferreira.

Prior to her retirement, she was a sewing machine operator in the local garment industry for many years. An exceptionally talented seamstress who could make just about anything, she also loved cooking, dancing, and shopping. Olga was very meticulous about her home, always managing to keep it spotless and neat. She also enjoyed traveling to such places as Lisbon, New Jersey, Canada, and back to her homeland in the Azores.

She leaves: her children, Carl M. Cabral of Rhode Island, Mario J. Pimentel of the Azores, Anna M. Borges (late husband, John) of Dartmouth, Walter Cabral and his long-time companion, Shana Sweeney, and Zita M. Leal and her husband, Delio, both of Fall River; her eight grandchildren, John L. Borges, Jr., Paulo Borges, Christopher Leal, Chad Cabral, Corey Cabral, Briana Sodarith, Gabrielle Cabral, and Christian Sweeney; six great-grandchildren, Christopher Leal, Jr., Adrianna Leal, Alondra Sodarith, Madelyn Borges, Vivienne Borges, and Ivania Sodarith; one brother, Valdomiro Gaspar (late wife, Conceicao) of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Liberto Gaspar (late wife, Zelia).

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, July 28th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery.
