Olivia "Massey" (Pereira) Arruda, 99, formerly of Donnelly St., passed away Thursday after a brief illness. Widow of Manuel "Babe" Arruda. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel L. and Maria (Gaspar) Pereira. A member of ILGWU, she retired from Louis Hand and enjoyed her trips with both the Retirees and Melody Clubs. Beloved mother of Manuel Arruda, Jr., (wife-Pauline) of Assonet and Paul Arruda (wife-Joan) of Portsmouth; grandmother of Scott, Barry, and Derek Arruda, Debi Steele, Jodie Constant and the late Douglas Arruda, sister of Connie Furtado, Alice Cabral, William and Larry Pereira and the late Mary, Manuel, Joe, Louis, Archie and Carlos "Massey" Pereira, Della Ferreira, Justina "Casper" Raposa, and Evangeline Leite. She also leaves 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 18, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
