Palmira Souza, 95, of Fall River and formerly of Brook St. in Somerset, passed away on Wednesday at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center. Widow of John Souza. Born on the island of Madeira, daughter of the late Carlos and Maria (Gomes) Pimenta.
Along with her husband, Pal was a co-proprietor of Jack's Market on North Main St. for 26 years. She greatly enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining and dancing. Survivors include a sister, Alcina Faria of Fall River, and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Charles Pimenta, Edward Pimenta and Zell Still. Her Funeral Mass was offered Monday, June 1, in St. John of God Church. Committal services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Donations in her memory may be sent to Sarah S.
