Patricia M.
A. Martin
d. Nov 8, 2024
Patricia M. A. Martin, 81, formerly of Fall River, MA and East Greenwich, RI, former wife of Paul Martin, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 at Adviniacare Newton Wellesley Nursing Center following a period of declining health. Born in St. Austell, Newquay, Cornwall, England, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Wills and the late Kathleen (Scott) Wills.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a Claims Adjuster for Aetna (which later became Travellers Insurance) for many years. She enjoyed walking, reading and completing word puzzles, watching the hummingbirds at her feeders, and loved her cats. She traveled to such places as Iceland, France, and throughout the United States and her homeland of England. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, and was an incredibly talented cake decorator. In her younger years, she selflessly volunteered her time serving as a "Big Sister" for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Mentoring Program. Most notably, Patricia was an exceptionally kind and hardworking woman known for her "British wit," and was always eager and willing to help anyone in need.
She leaves behind her two loving children, a son and daughter; her sister, Shirley Collingridge (late husband, Brian) of England; and many nieces and nephews. Also, sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Patricia L. Martin, as well as a brother-in-law, David L. Martin.
Following a private cremation, a Prayer Service was held on Sunday, December 1st, during a Memorial Gathering in our Fall River Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricia's memory to: The Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
