Paul M.
Rego
d. Jan 28, 2019
Fall River
Paul M. Rego, 51, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of Maria (Ribeiro) Rego and the late Joao L. Rego. Prior to his illness, he was a Union Laborer (Local 610) in the construction industry for many years. He loved fishing, cooking, and going out to eat with his family. An avid sports fan, especially of hockey and football, he also enjoyed watching old-time movies and listening to classic rock. A very personable man, Paul was also a man of deep faith, humbly proven as he carried the statue of Santo Christo in the annual religious processions for Espírito Santo Parish. But what was most important to him was spending time with his sons who he was both equally proud of. Besides his mother, he leaves: his two sons, Brian M. Rego and Paul M. Rego, both of New Bedford; his sisters, Julieta Sales and her husband, Manuel, of Fall River and Ana Borges and her companion, John Cummings, of New Bedford; his brothers, Aires M. Rego and his wife, Mary, of North Dighton and Joao G. Rego and his wife, Diane, of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 31st, in Espírito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
