Obituary

PaulMatthew DaPonte had a passion for people. His smile and laughter could make a room come alive. Sadly, his family will no longer experience the warmth of his smile. We are sad to announce the passing of PaulMatthew DaPonte of Lady Lake, Florida, originally from Fall River, MA. He died at the age of 37 years.

PaulMatthew was a true New England sports lover. He loved the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. One of his most prized possessions was his authentic Jayson Tatum shirt. The simplest pleasures in life made Paul content. Spending his young career in the restaurant industry, Paul gained the most joy serving others. Paul was also adored by friends of four-legged nature. He had several repeat customers through his Rover dog sitting service. However, PaulMatthew's greatest treasure was always his children. There was never a day when PaulMatthew did not speak of his love for Kassidy and Jonathan and how much he wanted to live for them.

Although PaulMatthew struggled internally with demons, he could always be found helping others. Paul had an uncanny ability to find peace in caring for others. He was known to cook amazing Shrimp Mozambique as well as other dishes. His pleasant personality was contagious to all he met.

PaulMatthew is survived by his two beautiful children, Kassidy and Jonathan. He also leaves behind his mother Donna DaPonte with whom he spent his final years living, his brother Stephen DaPonte, sister, Leonora DaPonte, several nieces and nephews, several close cousins, Uncles Michael and Christopher Comeau, Aunt Michele Graf and husband David, framily, Karen Burch and daughter, Alison Burch, Katie Cook, mother to Jonathan, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Nancy Comeau, grandfather Bernard Comeau, and Uncle David Comeau.

We invite you to make a donation to PaulMatthew's Go Fund Me to help support his surviving children in lieu of sending flowers.

To honor PaulMatthew's memory, a celebration of his life was held on Monday, August 29th, in our Fall River Chapel. A private cremation followed.
