Pedro D'Oliveira, 90, of Somerset, husband of the late Maria Fernanda (Freitas) D'Oliveira, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Somerset Ridge Nursing Home following a brief illness. Born in Porto Santo, Madeira, he was a son of the late Semiao D'Oliveira and the late Amelia (Melin) D'Oliveira.

Prior to his retirement he worked as a mason in the local construction industry for many years. An avid Benfica fan, he also loved fishing and traveling back to his homeland to visit family. Pedro was a master at making bolo do caco, very much enjoyed Christmas gatherings with his family, and simply enjoyed meeting up with his friends at Club Madeirense Sacramento of New Bedford where he was a long-time member.

He leaves his loving daughter, Carmen Vaz and her husband, Jose, of Swansea; his two grandsons, Daniel Vaz and Michael Vaz; his sisters, Isabel Melin and Maria do Carmo Fernandes, both of Madeira; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel D'Oliveira, Joao D'Oliveira, Semiao D'Oliveira, Antonio D'Oliveira, Maria Simplicia, Jorgina Dias, and Jose D'Oliveira.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, December 12th, at St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River.
