Peter Angelo, 83, of Fall River, died Monday at the Highlander Rehabilitative Center after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Maria de Jesus (Barroso) Angelo. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Manuel and Eugenia (Coelho) de Almeida Angelo. A WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked in construction and belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local # 004. Survivors include a son, Stephen De Costa (wife Anna), step daughter, Elizabeth De Costa, a sister, Mary A. Cordeiro, two granddaughters, Chantel & Destinee De Costa, and nephew Peter Cordeiro. His Funeral Mass, celebrated by Father Brian Albino, was offered in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery, where Peter's service to the country was honored with the playing of taps and folding of the flag by the See Bees. Pallbearers were Randy Sousa, Luis Bernardo, Joseph Almeida, Kevin Marques, Francisco Roque, Francisco Sousa, Alfred Nunes and Jose Aguiar.
