Obituary

Philip Martin Costa, 90, of Fall River, ex-husband of the late Deolinda (Corvello) Costa, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2020 after a brief illness at Southpointe Nursing Home where he was a resident.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Martin) Teceira Costa.

Prior to his retirement, he worked in the local textile industry for many years. Philip enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, talking and reminiscing about old times, eating chocolate-covered cherries, Hershey bars, and strawberry-rhubarb pie, and singing and dancing. A parishioner of the Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton, he was also a Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus, Father J Boehr Council. Most notably, Philip was not only a social and outgoing person, he was also a very caring and loving man.

He is survived by: his four children, John Philip Costa and his wife, Susan, of Fall River, Christine Botelho and her husband, Brian, of New Bedford, Steven Anthony Costa and his wife, Kymree, of Fall River, and Lisa Marie Bruneau of Florida; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Following his private cremation, Phil's Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 26th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by a private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
