Phyllis (Souza) Monte passed away on April 27, 2013. She was the wife for 62 years to the late Antero Monte and they always lived in Fall River. She was the daughter of the late Francisco B. Souza and the late Constance (Medeiros) Souza. Christened Philomena B. Souza, she was educated in Fall River Schools. She worked for the former Shelburne Shirt Co. until retirement at age 62 as a Quality Control Supervisor. Survivors include 3 sons, William & wife Patricia, Gerald & wife Jean and Michael & wife Donele. She was the mother-in-law of Helen Monte who was like a daughter to her. She was predeceased by her son the late Richard Monte & wife, the late Nancy Monte Galego. She was the sister of Constance Bourget, Evelyn Gouveia, Norma Moore, Dennis Souza. She was the sister of the late Manuel B. Souza, Frank B. Souza and Antone B. Souza, Laura Borges, Mary Silvia, Betty Gould, Olivia Bourget, Tillie Jackson. She was a parishioner of Holy Name Parish for over fifty years. She also left 8 grandchildren, Vicki Monte, Lisa Carr & husband Robert, Peter Monte, David Monte & wife Nicole, Johnathan Monte, Daniel Monte, Nicolas Monte and Alexander Monte, 4 great grandchildren, Matthew & Andrew Carr, Olivia and Jackson Monte. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on May 1, in Holy Name Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
