Raymond T. Pershake, age 81, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Crawford Nursing Home in Fall River. Born in Everett, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late John Pershake and the late Mary (Hughes) Pershake. A resident of Fall River for many years, Raymond was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Shell Oil for some time and was employed for many years as a laborer for various moving companies in the Fall River area, including the former Fitton Movers, the former Green's Storage and the former Thomas Walsh Moving & Storage Company. Raymond also kept a side job as a handy man, performing general maintenance and office cleaning for several law firms at the former Franklin Building, located at 100 Purchase Street, and also at 55 Highland Avenue. Surviving family members include his brother, John Pershake of Kissimmee, Florida, a sister, Mary Silliman of Wantagh, New York, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Honora 'Dorothy' Medeiros. Raymond was laid to rest in a private ceremony with Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
