Reginald M. Pelagio, age 70, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011, following a yearlong battle with cancer. He was the husband of Virginia Pelagio. Born in Long Beach, California, he was a son of Alice (Carnivel) Pelagio of Fall River and the late Mateo Pelagio. After his service in the United States Navy he graduated from the former Durfee Tech (now University of Massachusetts Dartmouth). Mr. Pelagio went on to teach business technology courses at several institutions, including B.M.C. Durfee High School and Somerset High School. At Somerset, he was not only a beloved teacher, but Chairman of the Business Technology Department and active in the DECA Program. Reg was also awarded the Marian Medal for his work with youth in Greater Fall River and was honored by being mentioned in several Who's Who publications. He was founder and partner of the former Micro Users Unlimited, Inc. Beloved father of Elizabeth Sussan (husband-Richard), Jennifer Bullaro (husband-Dennis), Stephanie Cabral (husband-Gene), and Rebecca Couto. He also leaves two brothers, Greggory A. Pelagio and Ronald R. Pelagio, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service was conducted by Fr. Ciro Iodice at our Fall River Chapel on Thursday, June 9, followed by his committal at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
