Obituary

Reginald Horatio "Bud" Ward, Jr., 101, of Tiverton, RI, husband of Gail J. (Moniz) Ward, passed away at home on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born and raised in Norwich, CT, he was the son of the late Reginald H. Ward and the late Gladys L. (Miner) Ward.

A U. S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, Bud served his country honorably then attended Bentley University in Waltham, MA, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business. After graduating, he moved to New York where he resided for a few years.

President of Midwest Hanger for over twenty years, Bud then worked as a sales rep for a number of years with Laidlaw Corp. He enjoyed traveling and lived in many places, such as Kansas, Texas, and Florida – residing the last 20+ years throughout Rhode Island.

Bud loved being near the water and was an avid boater. He also enjoyed live music, dancing, and watching westerns.

Besides his wife, he is survived by: two sons, Craig Ward (wife Michelle) of Caledonia, Michigan, Scott Ward (wife Marisela) of Overland Park, Kansas; two step-children, Ryan Sylvia (wife Louisa) of Newton, MA, and Kristen Proulx (husband Richard) of Fall River, MA; four grandchildren, Grace, Taylor, Ethan, and Haley; two step-grandchildren, Luke and Hadley; and many nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his sisters: Beatrice Frazier, Virginia Sullivan, and Blossom Rosetta.
