Rena A. Nassr, 94, formerly of Assonet and Fall River, passed away Monday. Widow of Alfred J. "Mike" Nassr. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Charles and Labiby Howayeck. A former Girl Scout leader, she was also a proud member of the USO, Tuesday Club of Assonet, Lebanon-American Ladies Auxiliary and the Historical Society of Freetown. Mother of Elaine N. Ferro (husband-Tony), Nancy Garofalo (husband-Mike), Michael Nassr (wife-Dianne), Carol Woldorf (husband-Terry) and Steve Nassr (wife-Janet); beloved grandmother of John Nasrah, Marianne Badurina, Rena Denoncourt, Kathy, Tom, Matthew, Allison and Lauren Nassr, Stacia and Nick Woldorf; great grandmother of Emily, Luke, Mike and Amelia; sister of Louis and George Howayeck, Doris Howard and the late Elaine Howard. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 17, in St. Bernard Church in Assonet followed by her committal at Assonet Burial Grounds.
