Rene A. Lepage's Obituary
Rene A. LePage, 88, of Somerset, passed away on Friday, May 19th.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Alderic and Aldea (Remy) LePage.
Rene started his career as a Financial Consultant in 1959 with a firm called Renyx Field Co. Inc., a financial planning company owned by the renowned Sir John Templeton of Franklin Templeton. His favorite saying was still "No one plans to fail… they fail to plan." He retired in 2013, after a long and successful 54 year career. His pride and joy was the building he helped design in 2001. For many years he coached little league in Somerset.
A lover of music, Rene was the creator of the Folk Group at St. Patrick Church where his motto, "He who sings prays twice" is engraved on a stone in his honor. Rene enjoyed ballroom dance and spending time with his family watching the Patriots and Red Sox. Loved by many for his musical talent and his passion for God, Rene will be remembered for living a full and bountiful life.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl Fonseca and her husband Bill of Swansea, Diane LeRoy of Sandwich, Susan LePage and her boyfriend Wilson Tiburtino of Somerset, Roger LePage and his wife Robin of Westport; sister, Madeline Porier of Connecticut; former wife, Louise LePage of Sandwich; grandchildren, Nina Botelho, James Fonseca, Jared Medeiros, John LeRoy, Nicholas LeRoy, Jenna LePage, Nichole LePage and Christine LePage; great grandchildren, Lily Rymut, James Fonseca and Abigail Rose Fonseca; and several nieces and nephews. He was also grandfather of the late Jeffrey Fonseca and brother of the late Orient LePage, Ella St. Amand Ledoux, Raymond LePage and Lorraine Ledoux.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated by his good friend "Fr. Pat" on Wednesday, May 24th, in St. Patrick Church in Somerset followed by his committal at the parish cemetery.
