Richard A. Costa, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Somerset Ridge where he had resided for the past three years. He was the husband of the late Mary D. (Galvao) Costa and shared thirty-four beautiful years together. Born in Fall River, MA he was a son of the late Manuel and Guilhermina (Almeida) Costa. He retired from Plymouth Rubber Co. in Canton, MA after 34 years of service. Mr. Costa had a deep faith in God and loved scripture, reading, and spending time with his family. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.  His motto was "God first, family second and the Red Sox third." He is survived by his son, Richard Costa of Somerset and his daughter, Donna Costa of Fall River, who were by his side. He leaves his twin grandsons, Jonathan and Richard Costa of Fall River, three great- grandchildren; brothers, Roland Costa  and his wife Jenny of Somerset, John Costa  and his wife Cheryl and Robert Costa and his wife Olga of Fall River; sisters, Mary Medeiros and Ruth Costa of Fall River, and Theresa Costa of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late David Costa Sr., Eliza Gouveia, and Rose Da Costa. The family would like to thank the staff at Somerset Ridge for their excellent support and care and a special thank you to Guilhermina, who went beyond the call of duty. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 3rd, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
