Richard Fonseca, 80, of Swansea, husband of Patricia (Cardeiro) Fonseca, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Fall River, Richard was a son of the late Francisco Fonseca and the late Philomena (Candeias) Fonseca.

Prior to retirement, Richard worked at Jackson Tube Company as a machine mechanic. Richard had a love for cars—he enjoyed fixing them and drag racing. Most notably, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Patricia “Tricia” Gouveia and her husband David, of Somerset, and Richard F. Fonseca and his wife Wendy, of Somerset; grandchildren, Jocelyn Paiva and her husband Kenny and Aiden Fonseca; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Aalyviah, Milennah and Kobe; brother Ronald Fonseca, of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are private and under the care of Silva-Faria Funeral Homes.
