Born in Laconia, New Hampshire, the only child of the late William Russell Jones and the late Lydia Esther (White) Jones, he resided in Westport, MA, most of his life.

Owner of Capital Caterers (along with his wife), formerly of Fall River, Richard operated the largest mobile catering company in greater Fall River for 40 years – serving most of the local area mills, power plants, and construction sites. He was a huge Yankees fan and enjoyed supporting other New York sports teams, such as the Giants. In his younger days, Richard had also served his country honorably in the U. S. He is survived by: one son, William Jones (wife Debra) of Florida; four daughters, Donna Murphy, Peggy Faria, Nancy Jones (fiancé John), and Lori-Ann Kydd (husband Lionel) all of Fall River; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

Prior to a private cremation, his funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 27th, during calling hours in our Fall River Chapel. His cremains were later buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Westport.
