Richard P. Oliveira, 83, of Brockton, former husband of Patricia (Sarni) Rogers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Brockton VA Hospital after a long illness.

A United States Army and Marine Veteran, he proudly served our Country during the Vietnam Era. Prior to his retirement he worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service for many years. He loved cooking, gardening, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and Bourne, Massachusetts. Richard was a "jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. As a concerned and practicing Catholic, he volunteered weekly to cook and serve the less-fortunate at his local soup kitchen.

He leaves: his children, Lori Rautzhan and her husband, Michael, of Florida, Maryann Vacca and her husband, David, and Michelle Oliveira, both of Brockton, and Richard P. Oliveira and his wife, Susan, of East Bridgewater; eight grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; his brother, David P. Oliveira and his wife, Cynthia, of Swansea; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel P. Oliveira, Dorothy Michael, and Alfred Oliveira.

His arrangements, under the direction of the Silva-Faria Funeral Homes, were private.
