Ri chard Proulx, 75, of Fall River, husband of Karen A. (Rousseau) Proulx, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, February 19, 2021 in the comforts of his home after a long illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Emile Proulx and the late Irene (Desbien) Proulx.

Prior to his retirement in 2003, he worked for the City of Fall River as a Police Officer for over twenty-three years, a profession he truly loved. He then worked for Tegra Medical for another sixteen years until last March when the COVID pandemic completely "forced" him to stay home. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly and bravely served our Country during the Vietnam War. He particularly enjoyed and was proud to be an apprentice for the medicine man of the Native Americans. An avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Bruins, and a bit of a "jokester", Richard was also a very generous man who would help anyone in need. But most notably, he loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.

Besides his wife of forty years, he leaves: his loving children, Michael D. Proulx and his wife, Tanya, of Bristol, Rhode Island, Danielle L. Todd and her husband, Richard, Richard T. Proulx and his fiancé, Kristen Sylvia, Ashley E. Souza and her husband, Scott, and Scott Guilmette and his wife, Valerie, all of Fall River; eleven grandchildren, Courtney Pacheco, Riddek Todd, Rowan Todd, Kenzie Souza, Gabriel Gaouette, Scott Guilmette, Kaleb Proulx, Hunter Benefeito, Landon Proulx, Natalie Souza, and Autumn Proulx; three great-grandchildren, Katherine McGlynn, Hazel Gaspar, and Jason Gaspar; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Arthur Proulx who passed away just several weeks ago.

Special acknowledgement to all the nurses and doctors at Rhode Island Hospital for the exceptional care they provided and to the Fall River Police Department for their genuine concern and kindnesses during Richard's illness.

His Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, February 24th, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel. His private cremation followed.
