Rita M. D'Arruda, 92, of Somerset, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012. Widow of Albert J. D'Arruda. Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Arthur & Alice (Remillard) Bergeron. Rita greatly enjoyed shopping and knitting. Survivors include daughters, Alice D'Arruda Patz of Newington, CT and Lucille A. King (husband – Robert) of Somerset; a sister, Jeanette Souza of Acushnet; grandchildren, Ray Patz, Eddie Patz, Albert L. D'Arruda, Lynne Galipeau and Melanie Fryer; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Albert J. D'Arruda and Arthur Bergeron D'Arruda. Following her cremation, a memorial mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 2, at St. Louis de France Church in Swansea. Her ashes were interred in her family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Bedford.
