Obituary

Rita B. Leite, 87, of Somerset and wife of the late Daniel E. Leite, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Louis B. Souza and the late Mary (Camara) Souza.

Prior to her retirement she was an assembler at Elbe File for many years. An avid reader, she also loved knitting, crocheting, and gardening. Rita also enjoyed her Caribbean cruise and traveling to such places as the Grand Canyon and Montreal, Canada.

She leaves her loving children, Donna Willette and her husband, Bruce, Paul E. Leite and his wife, Christina, both of North Dighton, Michael E. Leite of Fall River, Brian E. Leite of Somerset, and Mark E. Leite and his wife, Jane, of Franklin, New Hampshire; her six grandchildren, Jared Leite and his wife, Melanie, Amanda Camara and her husband, Richard, Paul Leite, Jr., Joshua Leite, Kyle Willette, and Katelyn Willette; great-grandson, George Daniel Leite; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alfred Souza, Louis "Buzzy" Souza, Mary Vieira, Alice Vieira, and Olive Mello.

Rita's family would like to thank everyone at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home for their kindness and compassion that was extended to their Mom during her stay and final days.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 9th, at St. Patrick's Church in Somerset followed by her committal at the parish cemetery.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support.
