Rita (Oliveira) Lund, age 88, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, following an illness. She was the widow of William Lund, Jr. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Lafayette S. Oliveira and the late Louise(Souza) Oliveira. A lifelong resident of Fall River, she labored as a seamstress in the garment trade of this city for many years. Rita was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church on Linden Street in Fall River. Surviving family members include her two sons; Robert Lund and Paul J. Lund, a brother, Lafayette Oliveira, Jr., two sisters; Mary Rose and Lydia Andrews, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late James Oliveira, John Oliveira, Edmund Oliveira, Irene Holland and Evelyn Perry. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, August 22, in Sacred Heart Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
