Rita M. Valliere, 72, of Fall River, widow of Wilfred Valliere, died Monday 1/10/11 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Armand S. & Rosella (Bouvette) Fortin. A textile worker for many years, she retired from Lexcraft in 2004. Mother of Kevin, Penny & Valerie Valliere, all of Fall River. Sister of Robert, Paul & John Fortin, and the late Beatrice Felix, Armand J. & Mary Rose Fortin. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 15, in Good Shepherd Parish Church followed by committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to UMass Dartmouth College of Nursing c/o Advancement Office, 285 Old Westport Road, Dartmouth, MA 02747 for a scholarship to be set up in Rita's name to help high school seniors seeking a career in nursing.
