Robert J. Duarte, 72, of Fall River, husband of Patricia (Rodrigues) Duarte, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth after a long illness. Born in Fall River, he was the only child of the late Herman Jose Duarte and the late Ortensia (Machado) Duarte.

A longtime truck driver in the construction industry, he had worked for a number of years with Century Paving, retiring early due to disability in 2006. An Army National Guard veteran of the Vietnam Era, Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed NASCAR.

Besides his wife, he is survived by: daughter, Kimberly Duarte of Maryland, sons Robert J. Duarte, Jr. of Fall River and Joshua Duarte (wife Lauren) of Maryland; Marissa Torres who was like a daughter to him; Armand Levesque who was like a son to him; nine grandchildren; a great grandson; and several cousins.

His cremation arrangements were private.
