Robert J. Dupont, 71, of North Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Turcotte) Dupont, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Fall River, son of the late John U. and Anna (Souza) Dupont, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. For 36 years, Robert taught woodworking for the Fall River School Department at Henry Lord Middle, Talbot Middle and Durfee High Schools. As a younger man, he sang with a group called the Four Coachmen. An avid reader, he enjoyed fishing and will be remembered by his friends and family for his uncanny ability to create laughter by telling jokes and incredible stories. Besides his wife Elaine, Robert is survived by a daughter, Jana E. Dupont of North Dartmouth; a sister, Patricia Bergeron and husband Roland Bergeron of Fall River; a cousin, Elaine Oliveira and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Delores Emond. His cremation was private with a memorial service to be announced. (www.silvafaria.com)
