Robert Larrivee, age 86, of Westport, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Thurley (Sherman) Larrivee. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Leonard Larrivee and the late Marie (Lachance) Larrivee. Raised in Pawtucket and New Bedford, MA, he served in the Merchant Marine in World War II. After living in Michigan for 15 years he moved to Westport where he established Freightway Trucking, which he operated with his sons since 1983. Robert always enjoyed being outdoors and also worked as a commercial fisherman for many years out of New Bedford. Surviving family members include three sons; Andy Larrivee of Westport, MA, Gary Larrivee, and his wife Ana, of Westport, MA, and Randy Larrivee of Darthmouth, MA, two brothers; Lenny Larrivee of Lakeville, MA and Arthur Larrivee of Darthmouth, MA, a grandson, Robbie Larrivee of Westport, and several nieces & nephews. He was also the brother of the late Raymond Larrivee, formerly of Deerborn Heights, MI. His funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 23, in our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal at Maple Grove Cemetery in Westport.
