Roger J. Alvarnas, 80, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Antone Alvarnas and the late Elsie (Pimental) Alvarnas.

Prior to his retirement he was a Service Technician for many years. He loved golfing, riding his motorcycle, the arts, and visiting the spectacular mansions of Newport. He also enjoyed traveling to such places as Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland.

He leaves his loving sisters, Elsie Miranda of Alaska, Angelina Silvia of Tiverton, Rosemarie Alvarnas of Swansea, and Sandra Karcz (late husband, Teddy) of Somerset; his brother, Michael Alvarnas and his wife, Cathy, of Tiverton; his Godson, Paul Karcz of Warwick, Rhode Island; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Antone Alvarnas, Jr.

The family would like to acknowledge Bob Ferreira for all his support during Roger's illness and final days.

After a private cremation, His Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 20th, at Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by a private committal and burial of his cremains at Notre Dame Cemetery, both in Fall River.
